Photoshop Painting!

...Here's a cast study, Adobe Photoshop all the way...

SKULL!

I've been trying to get back into painting over the last month or so, so here's a small one of a skull, done in Adobe Photoshop CC. I'm trying to be more proactive about posting again these days and hope to be getting more paintings up over the summer.

One last batch of Costumed Model Drawings

For the last session of quick sketching for the Digital Drawing Class we worked one more time with Adrianna who brought her great Harry Potter themed costume! As usual we started with really fast warm up gestures and then moved into a few short poses.

More Costumed Model Drawing!

So again, the same basic process with starting with quick gestures to warm up.

After the warm ups, we then worked with twenty minute poses and again I talked through my process as I did this demo for the class, this time specifically talking about how to use the spacing settings on the brushes menu to create pattern brushes with just the basic default brushes.

Of course the students are actively working as well, it's all about practice with what is for many of them, a totally new media.

Session Three will be up next week from these will be up next week!

Hello Again Blogger!

Wow, I Guess it's been a while, here's two very different sketches from recently

The GODBOTS! finally return with the KRAKEN...I'll be getting more of these done in the near future...

...and something much more serene, I'm actually trying to push myself to simplify my color sketches mainly to work on color interaction and lighting more than anything, plus I do loads of ugly stuff as is.

I've been up to a lot of art but haven't really been documenting it for the blog here in SOME time, I'll be  rectifying that situation over the next month, so look out for more art!

alchemy madness....

I've posted about this process before, the piece was done with Alchemy 7.0 and finished with a touch of color and texture in Adobe Photoshop

Above is the initial alchemy sketch for some sort of mech

and here it is after some work in Corel Painter Essential 2.0, I actually think the original sketch is more powerful though. Get Alchemy Alpha 7.0 here, it's free and open source, so you have no excuses.

Some new sketches mixing traditional with some digital painting

...Random Painter doodles...plus the old banner art

I've been trying to practice my digital drawing and painting skills, as you can see I have a ways to go..plus the old banner art! I wanted to switch it out but also leave it up on the blog.

Repost: Sneak Peek

This is the version without the extra type....and way higher resolution

Here's some recent life drawing..what I do is is pretty bizarre for the most part, short pose with a lot of weird energy. I drew these with a Copic Nib Pen...it's the kind of shitty pen I like (sorry, smooth markers, nice technical pens.....terrible nib pens, except I actually like them)

Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak of the new comic I'm working on...
